Tickets for the big final go on sale next week
United have been allocated 22,000 tickets for their first ever visit to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for the final of the LDV Vans Trophy against Bristol City on April 6.

For the match which is scheduled to kick-off at 1.30pm, the Cumbrians have received 22,000 tickets and their opponents 33,000. City are in the top six of the Second Division and looking to clinch a play-off place. They are expected to include former Carlisle striker Lee Peacock in their starting line-up.

It is expected United fans will be seated in the North End of the 72,500-capacity stadium with Bristol fans in the South. The stadium has three bands of seating, depending on the tier. The higher the tier, the more expensive the seat.

Ticket prices have been announced as follows:

Band 1 (highest tiers) - £34 Adults, £17 concessions (OAPs and under-16s)

Band 2 (middle tiers) - £26 Adults, £13 concessions

Band 3 (lower tiers) - £18 Adults, £9 concessions

Band 4 (restricted view) - £12 Adults, £6 concessions

Tickets are expected to go on sale at Brunton Park from next week with priority given to season ticket holders, supporters club members and members of the Supporters' Trust (CCUIST). After that they will go on general sale, but the club expects everyone who wants one will get one.

Supporters club travel organiser Brian Hall is hoping to run coaches on the day, leaving Brunton Park as early as 5am. There will also be pick-up points in West Cumbria and Penrith. When United first reached the final of this competition in 1995, over 100 coaches travelled down to London, filled with supporters. Over 25,000 made the first journey down followed two years later by approximately 23,000.

This time demand is likely to be lower given the Cumbrians' indifferent season and lower average gates than those experienced in the heady days of the mid-90s. However with well over 50,000 expected to attend, United's share of the windfall could easily exceed £300,000.
