Youth Team League Weekend Update

Last updated : 10 January 2012 By Thetashkentterror

The return to action after the Christmas and New Year period was no present for Carlisle as they dropped down to third in the table on the back of 4-3 defeat at Rochdale, with the United goals being scored by Mark Beck, Brad Potts and Dave Symington. That result, coupled with a 5-2 win for Burnley at Accrington Stanley and a 2-0 victory for Walsall at home to Port Vale, seeing the Clarets now in first place in the division, while the Saddlers are up into second spot.

Meanwhile Tranmere remain in fifth place in the table despite seeing their home game against Macclesfield postponed, while Bury are in sixth and Stockport are in seventh, the two teams picking up weekend wins on the road, 2-0 at Blackpool and 3-2 at Wrexham respectively. After defeat last week then it certainly doesn't get any easier for Carlisle this coming Saturday morning as they travel to a fourth-placed Preston side who have only lost two league games all season, the match due to kick off at 11am at North End's Springfields training complex.
