Contract News

9th May - Former Blackburn frontman Declan Watson, who has taken a year out of football recently since being with the Rovers under-15s set-up signs a two year YTS contract to start in July 2012 after recently featuring in some training games for Carlise.

9th May - Former Darlington centre-half Jake Chisholm, from the Quakers under-16s set-up this season, signs a two year YTS contract to start in July 2012 after recently featuring in some training games for Carlise.

26th April - Former Darlington goalkeeper Lewis Brass, from the Quakers under-16s set-up this season, signs a two year YTS contract to start in July 2012 after recently featuring in some trial games for Carlisle.

19th April - Second year YTS players Mark Beck, Brad Potts, Dave Symington and Josh Todd all offered one year professional contracts to June 2013.

19th April - Second years Adam Gill, Dan Jones and Lance McGlen all told that they will be released at the end of their two year YTS contracts at the end of the season.

22nd March - Mark Beck joins Blue Square Bet North side Workington Reds on a work experience deal to the end of the season. There is an immediate recall clause included in the deal.

20th February - Two Middlesbrough-born trialists join the set-up and play in a mixed age behind closed doors friendly against Gillford Park on Monday 20th February then a youth league match at home to Port Vale on Saturday 25th February, the pair being central midfielders Danny Dixon and Lee Richmond. Dixon subsequently signs a two year YTS contract to start in July 2012, while Richmond is released.

16th February - North-East based right-back Evan McEvoy, who has been at the Middlesbrough Academy as a younger schoolboy and was at Hartlepool's Centre of Excellence last season, signs a two year YTS contract to start in July 2012 after spending a week on trial with Carlisle.

5th January - Dan Jones joins Penrith on a work experience deal to the end of the season.

1st October - Blackburn-loanee centre-half Will James recalled by his parent club due to travelling difficulties.

27th September - Adam Gill's work experience deal at Penrith is extended to the end of the season.

15th September - Carlisle-born left winger Patrick Brough, from the under-16s, signs a two year YTS contract to start in July 2012.

27th August - Trialist centre-forward Liam Woodhouse, from Horden Colliery Welfare FC, plays for Carlisle against Morecambe having spent the past week training with United.

26th August - Adam Gill joins Penrith on an initial one month work experience deal.

12th August - Alex Berhan released from his non-contract terms.

8th August - Centre forward Alex Salmon signs a two-year YTS deal with the club. Salmon was released by Tranmere and had been doing a degree at Morecambe College while playing for Morecambe's youth team last season. Salmon's age therefore meaning he will only be eligible to play for Carlisle in the FA Youth Cup during his first year at the club.

6th August - Local under-16s players Jack Boyd (goalkeeper) and Patrick Brough (left winger) join the squad.

1st August - Brad Staunch signs a two-year YTS deal with the club.

15th July - Hartlepool born centre-half Brad Staunch, who played one game as a trialist in a 1-0 friendly win over the Cumberland FA under-18s side at the end of last season, rejoins the club on trial for the week.

9th July - United field three unscuccessful one game trialists in a 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat at Gretna FC 2008, the trio being James Bamborough - a centre-half from the North East, Aaron Logan - a centre-forward from Northern Ireland, and Australian-born frontman Brett Adamson.

31st May - Alex Berhan, a former trialist from the end of last season, will remain with the club on a non-contract basis for the 2011-12 campaign.

31st May - Josh Calvert, a player who featured in the side from the Centre of Excellence under-16s team last season, will play for the club on a non-contract basis for the 2011-12 campaign, Calvert now being contracted to Carlisle City.
