Youth Team League Weekend Update

Last updated : 18 January 2011 By Thetashkentterror
With Burnley out of action at the weekend it meant that both still unbeaten Port Vale, and Rochdale, were able to move up a place in the table to second and third respectively. The Valiants winning 3-1 at Stockport, while Rochdale defeated Wigan 3-2 at home. Further down the league, in sixth, Oldham had a bad Saturday as they lost 2-1 at Morecambe, while seventh-placed Walsall went down 2-0 in North Wales away to Wrexham.

Shrewsbury come next in the division and they played out the only draw this weekend as their match at home to wooden-spoonists Tranmere finished 1-1. The final game played meanwhile saw Accrington pick up a big win 4-0 at Bury, Carlisle, after their home game against Preston North End this weekend was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, facing Stanley themselves next on the road in an 11am kick-off this coming Saturday morning at Shawbridge, Clitheroe FC.
