Youth Team League Weekend Update

Last updated : 22 October 2010 By Thetashkentterror
Still waiting for their first win of the season things didn't get any easier for Carlisle as they lost 3-1 at home to Blackpool at Creighton Rugby Club in a rearranged league fixture that was actually a home game for the Seasiders that was played in Cumbria due to the Tangerines first team arranging training on the Blackpool youth pitch, that defeat for United being the only league fixture of the weekend.

The two sides having the date spare as the Seasiders had been drawn against Mansfield in round one of the northern section of the Youth Alliance Cup but the youth team of the Stags has had to be scrapped due to a lack of funds. United on the other hand were lucky enough to be the only club to receive a bye through to the second round, which is scheduled to be played at the end of October, with the young Blues drawing Preston away.

Next week Carlisle hope to make it lucky number seven with their first victory of the campaign as they make the trip down to Port Vale for a 12noon kick-off. That one of only three league fixtures on the card, with Bury, Macclesfield Town and Wigan Athletic all also in rearranged Alliance Cup action over the course of the week and weekend.
