Wigan Youth 4-0 United Youth

Sadly it's six losses in a row now for the Cumbrians but with such a young side out these days it's not easy for the lads, Professional contract earners Ben Mckenna and Steven Swinglehurst being the only two second years on show now that all others have been released. That meant that looking towards next season there was a trialist involved today as Newcastle City Juniors midfielder Louis Barrow came on as a second-half substitute for one of next year's first-year YTS players in Jack Lynch.

By the interval Carlisle were already 3-0 down against a much older Wigan outfit, with all three of the goals being particularly bad ones to concede. Things did improve a little bit after the break though as the Latics only found the net once to leave the final scoreline at 4-0. United's next chance to break their current losing streak coming a week on Saturday morning when they face Walsall in a 12noon kick-off at Creighton Rugby Club, the Saddlers having already beaten Carlisle 2-0 in the FA Youth Cup at Brunton Park in December.

United line-up :

Joe Mulby, Lance McGlen (Adam Gill), Dale Minor, Steven Swinglehurst (c), Will James, Josh Todd, Tom Berwick, Dave Symington (Dan Jones), Jack Lynch (Louis Barrow), Ben Mckenna, Mark Beck.

No unused substitutes.
