Rochdale Youth 2-2 United Youth

Last updated : 11 September 2010 By Thetashkentterror

Carlisle this morning started badly and they were 1-0 down after only seven minutes when a mix-up between skipper Steven Swinglehurst and goalkeeper Jon Ball allowed Tom Bentham to nip in with a header and open the scoring for the home side.

With Ben McKenna, due to international duty, and the injured trio of Kieran Cahill, Paddy O'Brien and Brad Potts also unavailable, things got even worse for the Blues when James Bonner had to limp off eight minutes later to be replaced by Josh Calvert.

United came back to grab an equaliser on 25 minutes though when a fierce cross-shot from Matt Osmond deceived Jordan Andrews on its way into the 'Dale net. Bang on the hour-mark though and the home side took the lead once more when Laurie Bell headed firmly past Ball from a corner.

The Cumbrians quickly equalised again three minutes later however when Osmond attacked well again from his left-back spot, the Blues youngster hammering an excellent shot home from 20 yards out. That being the final goal of the game as Carlisle continue to look for their first win of the season in the midst of an injury crisis.
