Plenty of new faces are in and around the Carlisle youth system at the moment as Cumbrians boss Eric Kinder works towards next season, and plenty of them got a look in as well, although they won't have much enjoyed a pretty uneventful first-half that only really saw Lance McGlen have to go off with a knock and be replaced by Adam Gill as the only thing of note to happen.

United stepped up the pace after the break though and deservedly took the lead just before the midway point in the second-half, Matt Osmond, after his own corner had been cleared back to him, drilling in a low cross which saw Brad Potts stab the ball home from close range in a goalmouth scramble. Carlisle then getting the goal that made sure of an excellent three points after 87 minutes when Dave Symington converted well with a shot from a Tom Berwick pass.

United line-up :

Joe Mulby, Lance McGlen (Adam Gill 15), Steven Swinglehurst, Brad Potts, Matt Osmond, Dave Symington, Phil Towler, Mark Sloan, Tom Berwick, Jack Lynch (Dale Minor 60), Mark Beck.

Unused substitutes :

Jordan Parker (GK) and Josh Todd.
