Sky Blues assistant manager Tim Flowers, who was speaking to Coventry's official website, talked about City's 2-0 Carling Cup win at Brunton Park last night. Flowers talking up the performance of Maltese international Michael Mifsud who scored both goals in the match :

"It was a potential banana skin and we knew it was going to be a tough game, but we prepared thoroughly and had their last three games watched so we're delighted with the result. It was a very professional performance and we did what we set out to achieve, which was to be in the hat for the next round.

"We had a bit of a scare early on when we allowed their strikers too much space to get a shot in, but after that I thought we took control of the game and could have scored more goals than we did. Michael (Mifsud) took his goals really well. He's like a little mosquito buzzing around and once he gets in behind defenders they aren't going to catch him - he was a threat all night.

"He still has a lot to learn in English football but he is frighteningly quick. He is a good athlete and creates chances well for himself. If he can increase his conversion rate from chances to goals then he will be a major, major threat in this division. We have identified one-on-one skill sessions we want to do with players and we will be working hard with Michael. He even got up for a characteristic header!

"I was also pleased with the players who came in - Andy Marshall has two clean-sheets from two games this season now, Ben Turner and Ellery Cairo had run-outs and again we're in the nice position of having a selection headache for Saturday.

"If anybody would have offered the start to the season we have made on a plate we would have grabbed it. We're a humble club and won't get carried away because we haven't exactly won anything yet, but there have been some encouraging signs.

"We're beginning to work better as a unit defensively and the strikers are also starting to understand the kind of movement we want. It would be nice to get a big tie, but whoever we get in the next round, be that a League Two side or one from the Premiership, we will treat the game with the same respect and give it our best shot."
