Town boss Lee Clark spoke to BBC Radio Leeds and the official Huddersfield website before his side's Carling Cup Round One tie at Brunton Park against Carlisle this evening, Clark looking for a winning mentality from his players :

" I want to win every game, I want to win every game we are in. Winning, if you get on a good run of wins it's a fantastic feeling and nothing's better than a winning dressing room. So, we treat every competition like we want to win, terrific mentality, so the players I pick to perform in that game, I'll be picking to win the football match.

" After playing Newcastle last season I think I have had enough of them for a couple of seasons, let's wait until we are competing on the same level with him. I have got a tough enough tie on Tuesday night to worry about, Carlisle United have had a good result, it's a tough place to go and win, so we need to be right at it and we'll concentrate on doing that.

" Both teams will be on a high and all the players will be full of confidence, so it has the potential to be a great game. I'd like all our games to go like Saturday's did in an ideal world, but we are looking to win every competition we enter and we go to win every match, so Tuesday will be no different in that respect. All the players are fit and available and I will be fielding a strong side to win the Cup tie.

" We've had no problems after Saturday, so I have everyone to pick from barring the Clarke brothers (Nathan and Tom). Lee Novak may have missed most of pre-season but he felt no side-effects from his short spell on the pitch on Saturday and we'll keep going with him.

" The players were really focussed today; they came in to training this morning and all eyes are on what has to be done on Tuesday night. Saturday is now forgotten about - it's history - and we have to focus on the next game, because that is what people will now remember. We want to put a performance in on Tuesday night that follows up what we did on Saturday. We need to hit that standard in every game, not just one. "
