Carlisle have been drawn away to Second Division Oldham Athletic in the First Round of the FA Cup.

United were in the third pairing out of the hat, their ball being pulled out by ex-Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton striker Mark Bright.

The ties are to be played on Saturday November 8. Oldham started the season poorly and are still in a deep financial crisis. Manager Iain Dowie, the ex-Northern Ireland international was being linked to other clubs but has kept faith with his employers.

Last season the Cumbrians pulled off a shock 4-3 extra time win at Oldham in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy, with Craig Farrell claiming the golden goal decider.
