Carlisle United have today extended the loan of Bradford City midfielder Jason Kennedy until midnight on 2 May 2015.
Kennedy, 28, joined the Cumbrians on an initial one-month deal in March and has made seven appearances for the club.
He has scored twice for the Blues, one of which he described as ‘the most important goal of my career so far’ when he bagged the winner in the 1-0 victory over Dagenham at the weekend.
“Jason came in and did exactly what we expected him to do,” manager Keith Curle said. “He adds drive and energy to the midfield and he brings that level of controlled aggression and determination which is so important at this level.
“The fans have responded to him because they’ve seen what he’s added to the team and the squad. He’s got his goals and he’s one we know will do everything he can to help over these last four games. He’s been excellent to work with and it goes without saying we’re delighted that he’ll be staying until the end of the season.”
Kennedy started his career at Middlesbrough and made his senior debut against Fulham during the 2004/05 season. He enjoyed a six month loan spell with Livingston in 2007.
A loan move to Darlington turned into a permanent deal in 2008, and a move to Rochdale followed in 2009. He helped Dale to promotion to League One during his first season at Spotland, and went on to make over 200 appearances during his time at the club.
He penned a two year deal with the Bantams in July 2013 but made a surprise return to Rochdale for a half season loan deal at the end of the last campaign.
