Centre forward Mark Beck joins the Glovers
Carlisle United can confirm that striker Mark Beck has today joined Yeovil Town on a two-year deal which takes him to Huish Park until the end of 2016/17 campaign.
Beck, 21, scored three goals in 29 appearances last term and has made over 75 appearances for the Cumbrians in total.
Managing director John Nixon said: “It was indicated to Mark at the end of last season that his first team opportunities could be limited going into this season.
“The opportunity to talk to Yeovil came up and terms have been agreed which allows the player to make the move, with conditions on future moves for the player included.
“With pitch time here likely to be restricted this is a move that works out well for all concerned. Mark has been a fantastic ambassador for the club throughout his time with the club and we wish him and his young family all the very best as he takes the next step in his career.”
The tall striker worked his way to a place on the first team bench at the end of the 2011/12 season having knuckled down and impressed with the U18 squad from the turn of that year.
He signed a three-year deal with the club in September 2012, after an impressive start to that season, and agreed a new deal in October 2014 which extended his stay for a further twelve months.
He enjoyed a valuable loan spell with Falkirk for the second half of the 2013/14 season where he earned a regular starting slot and scored some vital goals. He made three appearances for the Scotland U19 side early in 2012 and scored his first international goal against Sweden when he made his debut on 12 January that year.
