Carlisle United have issued updates on several players as the season moves into 2015.

  • Kyle Dempsey has been made an improved contract offer and will be discussing it with his agent. His acceptance of the offer will no doubt be dependent on whether he has interest from other clubs
  • Troy Archibald-Henville is still being assessed on a game-to-game basis and is confirming himself whether he is fit to play. His knee problems limit the amount of games he is able to play.
  • Brad Potts’ toe continues to cause concern, though he is expected to play at Newport with the aid of painkilling injections
  • Dossiers are being created on players who are potential targets for positions that Manager Keith Curle thinks will enhance the football team. According to official sources he would be extremely happy to land 3 or 4 of them, especially a centre-back.  As many as 9 players in the current squad are available for transfer and Curle has already received an enquiry concerning some of them. Curle also said “We’ve made a few enquiries ourselves and one of them relates to a player who is out on loan at the moment. Somebody might be interested in taking one of our players, and it would allow us to do a swap, where we continue to pay our player’s wages and they continue to pay his.” Watch this space.
  • Six players have been disciplined over Friday night’s late drinking episode, which allegedly kept them out in bars and a Club until the early hours. The club say that they have imposed a “maximum fine” which could be as much as two weeks’ wages plus the removal of unnamed privileges. Managing Director John Nixon said “It is not club policy to name those involved in situations such as this but, if individuals felt it right and proper to offer an apology to the supporters publicly, we would encourage them to do so at the earliest opportunity.”
