Winger Reggie Lambe makes the move up north
Carlisle United have today signed Bermudan international Reggie Lambe on a one-year deal (with an option) which keeps him at Brunton park until at least the summer of 2017.
Lambe, 25, cut his teeth in the game in the youth ranks at Ipswich and made six appearances whilst at Portman Road.
He enjoyed a loan spell with Bristol Rovers, prior to a move to Canada to play with Toronto FC in the MLS, where he became a Championship winner in 2012.
A three-month move to Sweden’s Nykopings BIS followed where he played 12 games and earned himself a trial with Mansfield Town on a two-year deal.
He made his debut for the Stags in their 3-2 home victory over Carlisle United in September 2014 where he came on as a 74th minute substitute for Fergus Bell.
Head of recruitment Lee Dykes said: “People like Reggie can unlock doors for you in difficult situations. He's a wide player who can come in off the line, or go down it, and he's good with both feet.
“We'll be able to play Reggie in a number of positions, but we've spoken to him and we know what his best position will be. Reggie had more financially lucrative offers to go and play at the same level, or higher, but he’s chosen to come here and that’s something we’re very pleased about.”
This deal remains subject to the clearance of all paperwork
