Carlisle V Crawley Town at Brunton Park - Match Preview

Gillespie blow for Cumbrians

Carlisle goalkeeper Mark Gillespie has been ruled out for up to eight weeks due to a knee injury and will miss the home game against Crawley.

Gillespie sustained ligament damage during last week's goalless FA Cup draw at Boreham Wood, so Greg Fleming is poised for his league debut after making his first appearance in the Johnston'e Paint Trophy defeat at Fleetwood in midweek.

Winger Matty Robson faces a fitness battle as he was withdrawn at half-time on Wednesday night after sustaining an ankle injury.

Defender Pascal Chimbonda has missed the last two games with a similar problem and remains doubtful, but midfielder Liam Noble is back in contention following suspension.

Billy Clarke could return to the Crawley squad.

The striker has missed the last seven matches with a knee injury but manager Richie Barker is hopeful he will be available at Brunton Park.

On-loan winger Kyle Bennett will be back having sat out the 2-1 FA Cup win at non-league Hednesford as parent club Doncaster did not want him cup-tied.

Defender Kyle McFadzean faces a battle to win back his place after he was dropped at the weekend following costly blunders in the defeats by Brentford and Bristol City.
