Duo back for Cumbrians
Carlisle pair Paul Thirlwell and Frank Simek could both return to contention for the home game against Colchester.
Midfielder Thirlwell has missed the last two games due to a calf strain and defender Simek has been sidelined for four matches with a thigh problem.
Striker Danny Cadamarteri has undergone surgery to tidy up his knee joint and midfielder Dave Symington will play no part in the final game due to a knee problem.
Defender Chris Chantler (ankle) remains sidelined, but winger Matty Robson (back) returned to the starting line-up last week and lasted the full 90 minutes.
French forward Mathieu Manset is hoping to make his first start for the club as the Cumbrians chase their eighth home league win of the season.
Colchester boss Joe Dunne will be boosted by the return of David Wright for the trip.
The midfielder has missed his side's last two games after he was knocked unconscious against Notts County on April 13, but he is back in contention after making a speedy recovery.
Dunne will check on defender Josh Thompson (hamstring) and Clinton Morrison, who is rated as doubtful after he strained a quad muscle in training.
The U's currently sit 20th in npower League One, three points above Scunthorpe in 21st, so a point would be enough to stave off relegation to the fourth tier.
Dunne told the club's official website: "Scunthorpe can win as long as we pick up a positive result - and a positive result is what we're aiming for.
"We've spoken about the game at training and, in a way, it's good that we have total clarity on what needs to happen.
"It helps us, because we have to get something and that's better for my team based on recent results since January. When it's absolutely necessary and when we have a clear task in hand, we've responded."
