LOAN: Shrimps winger joins the Blues
Return to Brunton Park for Campbell
Carlisle United Football Club have today signed Morecambe winger Adam Campbell on a half-season loan deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until the beginning of the January transfer window.
North Shields born Campbell, 23, began his career with Premier League giants Newcastle United where he became the youngest player to play for the Magpies in European competition after making his debut against Atromitos in the UEFA Europa League in August 2012.
He went on to make his top-flight debut for his hometown club later that season when he came off the bench to feature alongside Papiss Cisse in a 2-1 victory over Stoke City.
No stranger to Brunton Park, he joined United for his first ever loan spell when he came across to Cumbria in August 2013, making one appearance for the Blues.
He also enjoyed loan spells with St Mirren, Fleetwood Town, Hartlepool United and Gateshead before making a permanent move to Notts County in the summer of 2015.
After 73 appearances and 8 goals for County, Campbell signed for Morecambe in the summer of 2017 where he scored once in his 31 appearances.
This transfer remains subject to the finalisation and registration of all paperwork.
