Footymad preview History of the Yeovil Town v Carlisle United fixture

The Cumbrians face a mammoth trip to Somerset tomorrow looking to break their duck at Huish Park against the hosts, four of the previous five encounters having resulted in Yeovil victories, with the other game being a draw.

The Glovers winning in League One last season 3-1 in mid-October 2009 after they went 2-0 up at half-time thanks to a brace of goals from Ryan Mason on 13 and 43 minutes. Ian Harte then halved the deficit for Carlisle in the 54th minute from the penalty spot before, as 4,333 fans looked on, Kieran Murtagh made sure of all three points for the home side three minutes from time.

The one draw between the two sides in Somerset coming in the 2008-09 campaign in early March 2009 when it needed a last minute strike from Michael Bridges for the Blues to grab their only ever point at Huish Park. Yeovil having taken the lead through Gary Roberts on 31 minutes in front of 3,892 spectators.

Recent respective form guides

Yeovil's poor recent home run has seen them win just one, draw two and lose three of their last six matches at Huish Park. The Glovers conceding six goals in this period, while only managing to convert three of their own chances. Carlisle's away form on the other hand is the definition of average, the Blues winning and losing three each of the last six games on the road. While the Cumbrians have scored a healthy nine goals, a hefty thirteen have hit the back of the wrong net.

Yeovil find themselves struggling down in 17th position in the league at the moment having picked up 44 points from their 37 matches contested to date. Meanwhile, Carlisle's 52 points picked up from their 38 games played so far sees them lie inside the top half of the table, in 10th place.
