History of the Carlisle United v Milton Keynes Dons fixture

Carlisle welcome the MK Dons to Cumbria tomorrow hoping to carry on a good record against both the Dons and Wimbledon themselves over the years. Carlisle winning four, drawing one and losing one of the six games played at Brunton Park.

Last season in League One United hammered the Dons 5-0 at home in mid-February, the Blues 2-0 up at half-time thanks to Ian Harte and Matty Robson, while Darryl Duffy, Scott Dobie and Joe Anyinsah then added further goals after the break as 4,930 fans looked on.

The last time United played Wimbledon was back in the old Division Two in the 1985-86 season and produced the only win in Cumbria for the then Plough Lane club. Carlisle losing 3-2 in that sadly infamous Jim Tolmie campaign in front of 5,593 spectators, the United goals that early April day coming from John Cooke and a Scott McGarvey penalty.

Recent respective form guides

Carlisle have managed to pick up just two wins from their last six competitive home games at Brunton Park, losing three and drawing one, a generous eight goals have been both scored and conceded in this period.

MK Dons have a pretty poor recent record on the road however in their last six away matches, the Dons winning just one, drawing two and losing three of those games, while scoring seven goals but conceding a hefty eleven.

After opening the season with a 2-0 win at home to Brentford and a 1-1 draw at Plymouth, Carlisle currently sit in fourth place in the League One table. MK Dons meanwhile are in ninth after winning the only game they have played so far, that being a 2-1 success at Walsall.
