Carlisle 3-2 Yeovil- Match Report

Michael Raynes nets twice as Carlisle recover from two goals down to beat YeovilCarlisle fought back from an early two-goal deficit to beat Yeovil 3-2 and condemn the rock-bottom Glovers to a fourth successive defeat. The Cumbrians looked shellshocked when Yeovil scored twice in the opening eight minutes through Ryan Bird and Harry Cornick. However, Michael Raynes netted the first of his brace before the break and, as Yeovil faded under heavy second-half pressure, Macaulay Gillesphey and Raynes again were on target to complete Carlisle's comeback. The visitors stunned Carlisle with their bright start and Mark Gillespie's brilliant fifth-minute save from Cornick proved in vain when Ryan Dickson played the resultant corner into the near post where Bird got up to nod the ball home from inside the six-yard box.Yeovil again made scoring look easy three minutes later as George Thomas slipped a neat pass through to Cornick who drilled a low shot past the diving Gillespie's right hand to find the bottom corner of the net.It took Carlisle a while to get their passing game going and it was the 31st minute before they finally found the target

Yeovil goalkeeper Artur Krysiak could only parry a header by Mark Ellis from Alex Gilliead's left-wing corner and Raynes was on hand to head home from almost underneath the bar.Another Gilliead corner from the left produced Carlisle's 55th-minute equaliser

The ball was swung to the far post where on-loan Newcastle defender Gillesphey came in unmarked to head his first senior goal. The decider came 15 minutes time as Raynes grabbed his second of the game, the defender sliding the ball home from 12 yards after Hallam Hope's initial effort had been blocked by Krysiak
