You Can't Take Carlisle From the Boy

The Usual Blather

I'll keep this one brief because - basically - it is about informing you about a couple of things. For the - oooh - at least 7 of you who have e-mailed asking about it, the new Blueseason title is now available. Covering last season game by game, plus gossip, greatest hits of the message board and details of the reserves and youth team.

It has also got a section for fans to give their forthright opinions about the season, with its heroes and villains. If you replied with comments for that section via this site, I guarantee you made it to the book. All being well there should be copies in Waterstone's now, or within a few days. The Blues Store may stock it this year. The book is already on Amazon and there should be a link below.

I'm signing copies in Waterstone's from 9-00 am on Saturday 11 July, although I'm leaving in time to take in the Workington 'friendly'.

On a much more significant note, Derek Lacey was unique, passionate, capable of taking a joke at his own expense and deservedly loved by many of us. I posted a column on here a while back encouraging everyone to join his Facebook fan club, it is a tribute to the man that so many have joined the tribute pages in cyberspace and so many turned out for his funeral. With all due respects to every future occupant of the commentary box……Derek was one of a kind and he will live long in our memories.

And finally

Once I've given it enough of the usual blather on here to try and shift a few books we'll get back to business as usual, and I've got a column in the works that I'm really excited about. The title will be 'Unknown Legend' and it should contain the odd revelation.
