Youth Team League Weekend Update

Last updated : 03 September 2012 By Thetashkentterror

No home wins in six games at the weekend with Carlisle just managing to hold onto top spot in the table with a 1-1 draw at Fleetwood, with Pat Brough putting United ahead in the first-half only for Town to grab an equaliser after the break. Bury meanwhile remaining in second place after they also picked up a point in a 1-1 draw, this time at home to Morecambe.

Wrexham have now moved up to third after a good 3-0 win at Port Vale, while also picking up three points on the road were Walsall who won 4-1 at Oldham, that being the first game of the season for the Latics, and Shrewsbury who gained a tight 1-0 victory at Tranmere. The final match played meanwhile coming down at the foot of the table as Blackpool drew 2-2 at home to Accrington.

Two games fell foul of the bad weather though, and one of those was the match of the day as Preston at home to Burnley was rained off, with Rochdale's fixture at Macclesfield also being postponed. Next week meanwhile Carlisle, weather permitting, are on the road in Lancashire once more as they make the short trip down to Morecambe for an 11am kick-off on Saturday morning.
