Last updated : 22 February 2009 By Thetashkentterror
Wrexham moved back up to the table again after sneaking two games in this week, the Red Dragons first tasting success 2-1 in a local derby away to Chester on Tuesday thanks to an inury time winer, then defeating Oldham 1-0 at home on Saturday with a first-half strike.

That now leaving Burnley nine points behind Wrexham but with a mammoth five games in hand, the Clarets out of action this week having moved their scheduled home game with Stockport to earlier in the season. Carlisle meanwhile are just two points and two games behind the Welsh outfit after an excellent 3-0 victory at last season's title-winners Walsall, the United goals coming from a Conor Tinnion brace and Ryan Bowman.

Elsewhere in the division Chester bounced back from their midweek disappointment with a surprise win as they easily defeated an improving Preston side 3-0 at home. North End staying fifth in the table behind a Port Vale team who hammered rock bottom Accrington Stanley 6-1 in Staffordshire.

In the mid-table reaches Tranmere and Bury shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw on the Wirral, while Wigan were left disappointed after being held to a 0-0 scoreline at home to second bottom Morecambe. The last two games played involving four of the nine teams at the wrong end of the table, Macclesfield and Shrewsbury grabbing all three points thanks to respective 2-0 and 3-1 home wins over Rochdale and Blackpool.

Some of Carlisle's fixtures have taken a shift around this week and the young Blues are now at home in their next three games, those being this coming Saturday against Wigan, the following Saturday against Chester and then quickly back in action two days later when they play their postponed fixture from last week, that being the Tranmere match that will now take place on Monday 2nd March at 12noon.
