Youth Team League Weekend Update

Burnley's top v bottom game at Accrington was switched to Burnley, with the Clarets easily winning 5-1 to make it eleven wins and a draw from their opening 12 games. Wrexham in second dropped two points in a high-scoring 4-4 draw at lowly Morecambe, while fourth-placed Oldham won 2-1 away to Rochdale.

The result of the day was at Preston though where North End smashed Blackpool 10-0, the Lilywhites having already been 6-0 up at half-time. Tranmere are sixth following a 2-2 draw at Macclesfield, while into the mid-table reaches Port Vale defeated Stockport 2-0 at home. Last's season title-winners Walsall still struggle this campaign as they drew 3-3 at home to Shrewsbury, while finally Chester had a suprise 2-1 success at Wigan.

As we already know Carlisle made it 13 wins and two draws from their last 15 league and cup games with a 2-0 victory at Bury, Chris McDougall and Liam Davison bagging the goals in the second-half. This coming Saturday morning, weather permitting, the young Blues face second-bottom Morecambe in an 11am kick-off at Gillford Park.
