Burnley march on at the top of the table with their tenth win from ten games after defeating Preston 3-2 at home. Wrexham stay in second thanks to a 3-1 home win over Wigan, Oldham remain in fourth after tasting success 4-1 at home to Bury, while in fifth are Port Vale who also won at home, the Valiants defeating Macclesfield 3-1.

In sixth place are Tranmere who 2-0 on the road at Chester, seventh spot stays with Stockport were victorious 2-0 home at Shrewsbury, while completing a clean sweep of wins for the top eight teams in the table were last season's title-winners Walsall who thumped rock-bottom Accrington 4-1 at home.

Rochdale, in tenth, also won as they defeated Morecambe 2-1 at home. As we already know Carlisle, who stay in third, needed a late Chris McDougall goal to claim all three points at Blackpool. Next Saturday seeing the young Blues aiming to make it ten wins on the bounce when they visit Oldham in an 11am kick-off.
