Youth Team League Weekend Update

Burnley stay at the top of the table after making it five wins from five with a 5-1 win at home to Rochdale, while Oldham sit in second after four victories out of four, the Latics on Saturday defeating last season's title-winners Walsall 5-3 at home. Meanwhile Wrexham and Wigan are in third and fourth respectively after fighting out a 0-0 draw in Lancashire on Friday afternoon.

Into the middle of the table and Stockport won 2-0 at Shrewsbury while Tranmere defeated Chester 2-1 at home. Bury also tasting success as they came away from Preston with an excellent 3-2 victory. That victory for the Shakers keeping them ahead of a Port Vale side on goal difference who won 3-1 at Macclesfield.

Finally in a West Lancashire derby Blackpool defeated Morecambe 2-1 at home, and, as we already know, Carlisle won 2-0 at Accrington Stanley on Friday lunchtime thanks to an Andy Cook brace. United have it all to do next week though when face a difficult task against Oldham. The 100% Latics having scored 17 goals in the process of winning their opening four matches, the game kicking off at Gillford Park at 11am.
