Youth Team League Weekend Update

Last updated : 15 September 2008 By Thetashkentterror
Burnley made it four wins in a row to start their season as they hammered Stockport 7-2 in what was meant to be an away game for the Clarets, the fixture being switched to Burnley due to the recent bad weather. Meanwhile Wrexham are second with three wins and a draw after defeating Shrewsbury at home.

Next come a couple of 100%ers in Oldham and Wigan who have won three from three, Oldham beating Blackpool 3-2 at home while Wigan won 4-2 at last year's title-winners Walsall. Into the mid-table reaches and Port Vale defeated Tranmere 3-2 at home while Preston won 2-1 at Accrington Stanley.

Down at the bottom Morecambe claimed their first victory of the season 2-1 at Bury, while Chester and Macclesfield fought out the only draw of the day in a 2-2 tussle. As we already know Carlisle won 4-1 at Rochdale to move up to seventh in the table, the next fixture for the young Blues coming on Friday lunchtime when they make the trip to bottom of the table Accrington Stanley.
