Four-goal Andy Cook
As part of their training week away at Myerscough College the Blues continued their pre-season preparations with a game against Rochdale this afternoon, after the 2-1 defeat at Everton on Monday. Rochdale's Chris Beech and Carlisle's Eric Kinder had both agreed to use the game as a training exercise and so there are no line-ups from the match, with both coaches using rolling substitutions throughout.

The game was split into six 15 minute sections, with both teams making various substitutions and tactical switches. That didn't phase United striker Andy Cook though who hammered home four goals in the match, the other strike being knocked home by fellow frontman Ryan Bowman, after Cook had already bagged a hat-trick.

Under-16s trialist midfielder Mark Sloan featured in the game once more, and after impressing today he will be hoping to get another outing in Carlisle's next pre-season friendly. That coming on Tuesday when they take a trip down to West Yorkshire to face Huddersfield Town's academy side.
