United Youth 12-0 Gillford Park u-18s

Very understandably, playing a non-league under-18s side meant a glut of shots and goals for Carlisle, Gillford Park having kindly stepped into the breach for today's friendly after a Cumberland FA under-18s team had dropped out. Apart from the goals the only thing of note today being a hat-trick for trialist striker Chris McDougall, the Scot having faced United in pre-season while trialing for Motherwell. The goals in the game coming as follows :

1-0 (5 mins), Blake and Cook work the ball for inside for McDougall to fire a right-footed shot home from 10 yards out.

2-0 (24 mins), Lakeland cross in from the right headed by Cook straight at the goalkeeper from close range, Cook slams the ball in from the rebound.

3-0 (29 mins), Duffy low cross in from the left, Cook right-foot shot under the goalkeeper from 8 yards out.

4-0 (32 mins), Blake corner in, McDougall at near-post scuffs 6 yard shot off studs across goal and into the far corner.

5-0 (42 mins), Lakeland cross in from the right, Cook header from 6 yards off keeper and in.

Red card (45 mins), Gillford Park centre-half sent off for punching Cook.

6-0 (49 mins), lovely work by Tinnion on left-hand by-line, chipped ball across for Cook to head home from 2 yards out.

7-0 (54 mins), Duffy cross in from left, Law flicked 8 yard header hits post, Law knocks in rebound from 2 yards out.

8-0 (63 mins), Law pass to Blake in left of penalty area, Blake right-footed curling shot into far corner from 12 yards out.

9-0 (64 mins), Bowman through middle on own, chips ball over goalkeeper and in from 10 yards out.

10-0 (70 mins), good work by Blake on left, chipped ball to back-post for McDougall to head home from close range.

11-0 (73 mins), Cook lay-off to Bowman, Bowman right-footed shot into far corner from 20 yards out.

12-0 (75 mins), Blake corner in, Cook heads home from 6 yards out.

The final whistle somewhat unsurprisingly came after just 83 minutes, and more than likely to the relief of the Gillford Park lads, they did though play the match in excellent spirit throughout, apart from the defender who got sent off. United return to league action next week looking for their first three points of the season at a Preston North End side who have also failed to taste victory so far this season.
