Tranmere Youth 1-1 United Youth

United goalscorer Andy Hardman
On a pleasant day, and on an excellent pitch, Carlisle performed well to hold the home side to a draw, especially after fighting back from being 1-0 down at half-time when Tranmere opened the scoring thanks to a goal from Terry Gornell. The Blues came into it more after the break and equalised from the penalty spot, Andy Hardman dusting himself down to score after being brought down for the awarding of the spot-kick.

United could have won the game with Gary Madine striking the crossbar and Connor Tinnion perhaps harshly given offside after being put through one-on-one with the Tranmere keeper, the match ended all-square though as both sides went away with a point apiece. The Cumbrian youngsters are next in action on Tuesday morning when they play their penultimate game of the campaign as they travel to Bury for a rearranged fixture postponed from earlier in the season.
