After losing 4-2 at home to Burnley last Saturday, this week Carlisle once more scored two goals but this time it was enough to earn them a draw away to the Silkmen. The first-half of the game wasn't the greatest with neither side creating many chances to get the opening goal as the score remained at 0-0 at the interval.

Some poor defending by the home side allowed United to take the lead though, Andy Cook the man to profit after a mix-up at the back for Town saw him fire a shot home into the far bottom corner. That lead was short-lived though when Craig Daniels got the Silkmen back in terms after coming off the bench.

That equaliser then followed up by a second from Tom Darlington who side-footed home after good work from Tom France. United, not long after having been in the lead, found their own leveller late on though when Shaun Law picked up on a loose ball in the Town penalty area to score his first goal of the season.

Carlisle even had a chance to win the game in the final minute but Cook, who perhaps could squared the ball to Ryan Bowman for an easier chance, saw his shot well saved by Macclesfield goalkeeper Ryan Moss. United have a blank league weekend next Saturday morning which they have filled with an 11am friendly at Gillford Park against Gillford's under-18s side.
