FA Youth Cup Round Two Draw

The big prize
After an excellent 1-0 win at Wrexham on Wednesday night United's "reward" for that victory is a long trip down to the West Midlands to take on either Sutton Coldfield Town or Walsall. The Saddlers play in the same division as Carlisle although with the league split and regionalised they are in Group B this season and the Blues are in Group A. The sides will only meet once this campaign due to that divisional structure and that game came two months ago when the Cumbrians lost 2-1 at Walsall to a 90th minute winner, the match report for which can be read here.

Meanwhile Sutton Coldfield Town youth team, who were the 2005-06 Season Midland Floodlit Premier League Champions, have already battled through three qualifying rounds to reach the first round proper and their tie against Walsall. The young Royals, who play at the Central Ground, beating Teversal 4-3 away, Staveley 1-0 at home and then creating a big cup shock as they knocked out Nationwide Conference side Stafford Rangers 4-0 at home.

Last season Carlisle had a fantastic run in the FA Youth Cup as they got the furthest they have ever got in the competition, the Blues eventually losing out to eventual winners Liverpool 6-0 in the quarter-final having beaten Macclesfield 3-1, Doncaster 5-3 on penalties, Chipstead 5-1, Huddersfield 2-1 and Sheffield United 2-0 along the way. The draw hasn't been as kind to the Cumbrians as it was last year though as United amazingly played their first five ties at Brunton Park before bagging the plum tie of Liverpool away.
