Accrington Stanley Youth 1-3 United Youth

Carlisle made it two wins and two defeats so far this campaign in a game they really should have won by more goals. United taking the lead through Ryan Bowman only for the Blues striker to then score at the wrong end with an own goal. Bowman, having a busy day, then before half-time hitting the Stanley woodwork twice, which Kieran Cahill also did once, to leave the scoreline at 1-1 at the interval.

The young Blues were poorer after the break though and Mark Gillespie had to make a couple of good saves before Matt Osmond, in a goalmouth scramble, made it 2-1 to Carlisle in the 85th minute. Bowman then completing his "hat-trick" deep into added time, which United dominated, after he shot home on the end of a James Reid flick-on.

Youth team boss Eric Kinder was understandably disappointed with the change in attitude at half-time from his charges, Kinder having a lengthy team-talk with the lads after the game. They do though get the chance to put in a better performance next Saturday at home when they take on Bury a league fixture.
