Holding a four point advantage over the Red Dragons at the top of the table before the game it was imperative that the Blues second-string didn't go down to defeat at Globe Way in front of around 40 spectators and that proved to be the case thanks to a post-interval fightback against a strong Wrexham side.

Nathan Fairhurst and Adrian Cieslewicz, from the penalty spot, had put the home side in charge of proceedings at half-time but an own goal from the Welshmen and then an excellent finish from Michael Burns, who has just returned from a loan spell at Stafford Rangers, ensured that the Cumbrians took a point out of the game and kept their title push going.
