Also chasing title honours are now third-placed Wrexham and they drew 2-2 at home to Oldham on Wednesday, in a match played at Globe Way, Buckley Town FC. Joe Colbeck putting the Latics 1-0 up after only 11 minutes before Ed Moss equalised for the Red Dragons straight after half-time.
The visitors then regaining the lead when Colbeck got his second goal of the game on 55 minutes, before Wrexham grabbed a point with another leveller, this time from youth team player Leon Clowes 12 minutes before the final whistle.
Carlisle, just about hanging on at the top of the table after only two wins in their last seven games, played out a 0-0 snoozefest at Brunton Park against Morecambe on Wednesday afternoon. United now not scheduled to play again until a week on Monday when they play away to Preston in a 2pm kick-off at Bamber's Bridge Irongate Stadium.
Plenty of games are on in the division next week though, with lots of fixtures in hand left to play. The forthcoming week going a long way to deciding title honours, particularly on Wednesday evening when Rochdale take on Wrexham at home. The Welshmen earlier in the week playing a Blackpool side who will be looking to bounce back after they were hammered 7-0 at Preston in the Lancashire FA Cup quarter-finals during this week.
