Reserves League Round-Up This Week

Last updated : 18 February 2010 By Thetashkentterror
Wrexham taking the opportunity to move above Carlisle at the top of the table as the Red Dragons won 1-0 away to Preston in a match played at the QED Stadium, Bamber Bridge FC. Johnny Hunt scoring the only goal of the game for the visitors after 40 minutes. Wrexham then managing to hold out for the win despite having Hedi Taboubi sent off for yellow cards picked up in 60 seconds around the 54 minute mark.

Meanwhile down nearer the bottom of the table Accrington picked up their first win of their second-string season with a 2-1 victory at home to Morecambe, in a match played at Shawbridge, Clitheroe FC. Paul Mullin scored for the Shrimps against his former club but that goal was in vain as Billy Kee, on loan at Stanley from Leicester City, bagged a brace for the home side.

Rochdale missed out this week though as their home game against Blackpool, which was supposed to take place at Dark Lane, Rossendale United was postponed, that fixture now having been switched to a home one for the Seasiders in the middle of March. Finally, next week hopefully sees every side in the division, apart from Oldham, in league action, with four games taking place.
