Reserves League Round-Up This Week

Morecambe did Carlisle a favour at the top of the table this week as they defeated Rochdale 1-0 at Christie Park, Jim Bentley grabbing the only goal of the game in the 39th minute. Elsewhere in the League Cup, Oldham picked up a good 0-0 draw away to Middlesbrough in a match played at The Ron Greig Stadium, Billingham Synthonia.

That result meaning the Latics need anything but a draw between Preston and Bradford City in the last Group Two League Cup game to qualify for the semi-finals. Next week it is back to divisional action for four teams though as Carlisle and Tranmere play home matches against Accrington Stanley and Wrexham respectively.
