Wrexham moved level with Rochdale at the top of the table after defeating Blackpool 3-2 at Bloomfield Road. Johnny Hunt giving the Red Dragons a 41st minute lead before Nick Rushton doubled that lead on 70 minutes during a busy end to the game.

Rob Edwards pulling a goal back for the Seasiders three minutes later before Matty Wolfenden restored the visitors two goal advantage on 82 minutes. Wrexham than hanging on for the win after Louis Almond netted for the home side three minutes later.

Down at Kirklands, Cammell Laird FC, Tranmere defeated Accrington easily 5-1 at home. Rovers coming back from a 16th minute goal down to win big thanks to strikes from Seb Carole, Grenadian international Kithson Bain, Joe Collister, Dale Jennings, and then Bain with his second goal of the game late on.

Morecambe's was the only game off this week and that is because scheduled opponents Rochdale were at home to Luton in an FA Cup replay on the same evening. As we already know though, Carlisle did play and they defeated Preston 3-2 at home in an entertaining encounter, Richard Offiong, Ryan Bowman and a Dominic Comrie own goal being the tale of the United scoresheet while Michael McLellan and Conor McLaughlin got the North End goals.

Next week there will be no round-up of the second string action because there isn't any. The next two fixtures coming in a fortnight's time with one of those scheduled being third v fourth in the table as Carlisle play Tranmere at Brunton Park on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.
