Reserves League Round-Up This Week

Last updated : 29 October 2009 By Thetashkentterror
After a blank week for all things hardly got more interesting this week. Tranmere the highest placed team in action as fourth placed Rovers won 2-1 away to Wrexham, the match played at Globe Way, Buckley Town FC. The visitors going 2-0 through up Ryan Fraughan and Aaron Cresswell, Lamine Sakho then pulling a goal back for the Red Dragons on 55 minutes, Wrexham though unable to get another goal and nick a point.

In the other match played Preston and Morecambe shared four goals at North End's reserve home venue of the QED Stadium, Bamber Bridge FC. Preston pegged back twice in the gme after going ahead first through a James Taberner own goal and then a Neil Dougan tap-in, the Shrimps equalisers scored by Aaron Taylor and then Michael Twiss in the final minute.

Carlisle's scheduled game at Accrington Stanley's Crown Ground was slightly surprisingly called off due to standing water on the pitch, and with bad weather forecast over the weekend it could be that the FA Youth Cup tie between the two sides next Wednesday evening gets postponed as well. As for reserve action, United's next second-string match comes on Wednesday 11th November in a 7pm kick-off at home to Preston.
