Burnley moved above Carlisle and Manchester City and up to the top of the table this week with a 2-0 win at Bury in a match played at Stainton Park, the home of Radcliffe Borough FC. Nik Kudiersky opening the scoring for the Clarets in the first half before Michael King made sure all of three points with just three minutes left in the game.

Preston also had a 2-0 victory on the road as they won at Accrington Stanley on Wednesday evening. Adam Barton sending the home goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after 21 minutes, Jamie Proctor then doubling the scoreline for North End in the 69th minute as he netted from close range.

In a tight encounter at Prenton Park meanwhile Morecambe tasted success 1-0 at Tranmere, Aaron Taylor grabbing the only goal of the game in the opening period. Goals were at a premium in the division this week and Rochdale and Bury fought out a goalless draw on Monday night in 'Dale's home match that was played at Dark Lane, Rossendale United FC.

Rochdale did find the net twice two days later at Rossendale though when they defeated Carlisle 2-0 at home, both the goals for the 'Dale coming in the second-half. Next week the Blues are on the road again, this time they play Bury in a 2pm Tuesday afternoon kick-off at Stainton Park, Radcliffe Borough FC.
