For the first time in a good while every team in the division got a game in this week as Manchester City stayed at the top of the table despite losing 3-2 at Rochdale. New signing from Radcliffe Borough, in Craig Dawson, giving the home side the lead on nine minutes before the Citizens equalised just two minutes later thanks to a George Bowyer own goal.

Jack Redshaw, who has scored eight second-string goals against Carlisle this season, then put City in the lead shortly afterwards before the 'Dale found their own equaliser through Joseph Reidy on the half-hour mark. The only goal in the second-half giving the home side all three points when Lee McEvilly netted late on.

Blackpool found themselves in an action packed game too as they won 4-2 away to Accrington. Rochdale-loanee Kallum Higginbotham put Stanley 1-0 up on 17 minutes before another loanee, in Charlie Adam from Rangers, levelled for the Seasiders to score his first goal for the club.

After the break Adam grabbed a second on 50 minutes, with Stephen McPhee then making it 3-1 to the visitors on the hour mark. Accrington pulled the score back to 3-2 after 67 minutes when Robert Grant curled home a free-kick but Danny Mitchley made it a relatively safe ending to the game for the Tangerines 15 minutes from time as he fired home.

In a mid-table scrap Preston went down 1-0 at home to Tranmere in a game played at Chorley Town's Victory Park, North End including young full-back Kenny Strickland in their line-up after he moved to Deepdale on a work experience deal from Manchester United earlier in the week. The only goal in the match coming the way of the Rovers when Terry Gornell headed in early in the second-half.

The final game played saw Morecambe relegate Accrington into the wooden spoon spot when they defeated Bury 2-1 at home. Another new signing was in goalscoring action as Southport-loanee Mark Duffy made the scoreline 2-0 at half-time after Henry McStay had earlier given the Shrimps the lead. Morecambe then hanging on for the win after the Shakers pulled a goal back in the second-half.

As we already know Carlisle and Burnley stay second and third in the table respectively after drawing 1-1 at Brunton Park on Monday night, United first-year YTS striker Ryan Bowman with a header on 89 minutes cancelling out Jay Rodriguez's goal for the Clarets just before the hour-mark.

Next week, with a full first-team fixture list in the Football League no matches had been scheduled but Morecambe, Burnley, Tranmere and Rochdale are using the blank date to fill in a game in hand. The following week everyone in the division is back in action again on the Wednesday as five matches take place.
