The Clarets going into pole position after defeating Rochdale 4-1 at home in a match played at Accrington Stanley's Fraser Eagle stadium. Remco van der Schaaf put Burnley 1-0 up after 15 minutes before 19 year-old trialist Theo Fairweather-Johnson on 39 minutes and Steve Jones two minutes later made it 3-0 at the break. Fairweather-Johnson then netting again after 79 minutes before Rochdale got a late consolation from youngster Chris Blakeley.

Daniel Nardiello after just two minutes and then Dominic Merella with 54 minutes gone scoring the goals for the Seasiders at Highbury, the home of Fleetwood Town FC.
