Reserves League Round-Up This Week

Manchester City were already assured of second spot in the division before they thrashed a Bury under-16 and 15s side 5-1 a the Inn2gether Stadium, Radcliffe Borough FC on Tuesday night. A Jack Redshaw hat-trick and a brace from Ahmed Benali seeing City 5-0 up before the Shakers grabbed a late consolation goal.

Rochdale and Blackpool also knocked in six goals at Dark Lane, the home of Rossendale United, on Wednesday afternoon. Ben Wharton, Simon Williams, Andy Brown and Julio Barnes all got on the scoresheet for the 'Dale at home while Phil Doughty scored both goals for a Seasiders outfit who found themselves 3-0 down at half-time.

As we already know Carlisle defeated Bury 3-0 at home on Monday afternoon in their last game of the season thanks to two Danny Carlton goals and a late Paul Thirlwell strike. Burnley, who also still have a youth league game to play after the scheduled end of the season, wrap up proceedings for this campaign when they face Accrington at home, at Burnley's reserve home at Accrington, next Wednesday night.
