Paul Lloyd
Morecambe moved up to second spot in the table with a 1-0 win away to Rochdale, in a match played at Dark Lane, the home of Rossendale United. Paul Lloyd scoring the only goal of the game for the Shrimps to leave rock-bottom Rochdale still holding the wooden spoon in the division after nine defeats from 14 outings.

Tranmere shot up to fourth with their 3-2 victory at home to Wrexham. Trinidad and Tobago international Cornell Glen, playing for Rovers as a trialist, opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Rob Duffy, on loan to the Red Dragons from Oxford United, then equalised after 33 minutes to send the sides into the break level at 1-1.

Chris Greenacre made it 2-1 to the home side two minutes into the second-half before Glen bagged his second goal of the game in the 83rd minute to gain the Prenton Park outfit a two goal advantage. Duffy bagged a brace too as he netted again with one minute to go but it was too late to stop Rovers claiming all three points.

Blackpool dropped from second to fourth after losing 3-1 on the road at the Fraser Eagle Stadium against Accrington Stanley. Two second-half goals from Shaun Whalley and one from Jay Harris sealed the win for the Reds before Seasiders striker Danny Mitchley grabbed a late consolation strike for the visitors.

Bury had been to due to face Burnley at home at the Inn2gether stadium, Radcliffe Borough FC but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. That meaning that both sides are looking at a big fixture backlog as they have half their games for the season left to play in less than three months.

As we already know Carlisle thumped Preston 5-1 at Irongate, Bamber Bridge FC. After a shoddy start, the Blues are now up to third spot in the second-string league on the back of a seven match unbeaten run. Their next chance to improve that form coming next Wednesday when they take on second-placed Morecambe in a 7pm kick-off at Christie Park.
