Morecambe remain the only unbeaten side in the division after moving into second with a 4-2 home win over Rochdale. Ben Wharton gave the visitors an early lead before goals from Aaron Taylor and Matty Blinkhorn put the Shrimps 2-1 up at half-time. Ex-Carlisle man Simon Grand and Taylor with his second of the game then gave Morecambe a 4-1 lead after the break before Joe Thompson grabbed a late consolation goal for the 'Dale.

Burnley are now down to third in the table after they drew 1-1 at home to Bury in a match played at Accrington's Fraser Eagle Stadium. Dominic Taylor gave the Shakers the lead in the first-half with the Clarets making sure honours finished even in the game when Rob Turner levelled after the interval.

Chester sit in fourth place despite being thumped 5-1 by Manchester City at the Regional Athletics Arena on Tuesday. The home goals came from Ashley Grimes and Vladimir Weiss who both bagged a brace while Ched Evans was left behind after only scoring once. Chester's only goal of the game came courtesy of Nathan Lowndes on his return from injury.

Blackpool moved into fifth place with a 3-1 win at home to Accrington Stanley, in a match played at Highbury, Fleetwood Town FC. Danny Mitcheley scored twice for the Seasiders with their other goal coming from midfielder Michael D'Agostino. Meanwhile Stanley's official website continues it's record of poor reporting with no record of their goalscorer in the match.

Wrexham finally grabbed their first win of the campaign at the sixth attempt with a 1-0 victory at the Racecourse Ground over Tranmere on Monday night. Plenty of chances came and went for either side before Eifion Williams finally broke the deadlock in the 74th minute to ensure the Red Dragons got a full three points on the board at last.

As we already know United defeated Preston 2-1 at home last night, the Carlisle goals coming from Danny Carlton and Kevin Gall while North End scored courtesy of a Paul Arnison own goal. The Blues go hunting for their third win of the campaign next Wednesday when they face Bury in a 2pm kick-off at the Inn2gether Stadium, Radcliffe Borough FC.
