Oldham's Boundary Park
The top two sides in the division, Oldham and Tranmere, fought out a pulsating 2-2 draw at Boundary Park on Monday afternoon as they battled for league supremacy. The visitors took the lead as early as the first minute through Craig Curran, the Latics soon came back into the match though and found themselves 2-1 up at the break thanks to goals from Matthew Pearson and Chris Hall. Rovers weren't to be denied though and took home a share of the spoils, thus holding on to first place, thanks to Curran's second goal of the day after 77 minutes following an Oldham defensive mix-up.

Blackpool moved up to fourth in the table, leapfrogging Accrington, as they defeated Stanley 1-0 at a windswept Fraser Eagle Stadium. Striker and first year scholar Danny Mitchley scoring the only goal of the game in the first half to ensure the Seasiders came home with all three points. Manchester City and Rochdale played out a 1-1 draw at the Regional Athletics Arena in Manchester, both goals coming in the opening period with 'Dale scoring first through Ben Wharton before James Poole equalised for the Citizens on 34 minutes. Despite City having Shaleum Logan sent off for stamping midway through the second half, the visitors were unable to make the extra man count and the match finished honours even.

As we know, the Blues slipped to their fifth defeat in ten games, after winning the league last season, as they lost 3-1 at home to Bury on Wednesday afternoon. The second-string lads have to wait a long time to redeem their poor run of form as well with their next scheduled match being in almost six weeks time when they face Rochdale away on the 24th of January. There are a couple of games in hand scheduled in the division next week, but after those matches there is a reserve league Christmas break until the 8th of January when Wrexham play host to Manchester City.
