That game coming at the Regional Athletics Arena in Manchester where City continued their inconsistent form in the division by losing 1-0 at home to Bury. The all-important goal for the Shakers coming just after the half-hour mark as Nicky Adams converted a penalty after a foul by Citizens full-back Chris Ramsey. The visitors seeing out the victory quite easily as they even wasted chances to win the game by a wider margin in the second period.

Chester's scheduled game at home to Rochdale was postponed due to City playing an FA Youth Cup tie on Wednesday night, the Deesiders winning 1-0 at York City to secure a home tie against Premiership giants Tottenham Hotspur in the third round. Carlisle are back in reserve team action, if not league action, next week when they face a trip to Cleator Moor Celtic on Wednesday night in the Cumberland Cup third round, kick-off at 7pm.
