The match at the Leeds training complex saw Carlisle field a pretty strong team with just four youth team players getting game time. Whites goalkeeper Alex Cairns making an excellent double save from Craig Curran and Paddy Madden before the home side took the lead from a corner in the first-half through their trialist defender, who was reputedly Patrick Kanyuka.

Billy Paynter then made it 2-0 to Leeds after the interval with American winger Robbie Rogers then making the scoreline 3-0 to the Championship side. Carlisle's best chance to grab a late consolation goal meanwhile coming near full-time when Andy Welsh cut in from the left only to see his shot on goal blocked by former Blues-loanee Ben Parker.
