Last updated : 24 February 2006 By Thetashkentterror
United raced into a 4-1 half-time lead thanks to the pacey wing-play of trialist Dean Howell and Raphael Nade before stepping off the gas in the second period.

Glenn Murray bagged a brace, with Simon Grand and Simon Hackney bagging a goal apiece for the Cumbrians whilst Stuart Barlow and trialist Kyle Nix scored for the Shakers.

The United goals came as follows : Simon Grand scored with a free kick from fully 30 yards out to set things off and Glenn Murray bagged the next with a great finish. Dean Howell crossed it in and Murray smacked it past the keeper on the volley, his second goal, and Carlisle's third, came from a long throw that Simon Grand flicked on. He had put himself in a good area and was able to flick it in with the outside of his foot. Simon Hackney's came from good work down the left from Dean Howell, who put the cross in, and Simon finished with one touch from around the penalty spot.
